Melissa Krause-Quinn

Melissa took her first step on a yoga mat at the age of 16 under the direction of a family physician in an effort to combat general anxiety. She fell in love with her practice of yoga and took her first Yoga Teacher Training at the age of 19 in the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage under a traditional Indian Teacher in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Her yoga practice has been an anchor throughout her adult life, and her various business ventures and is the compass that directs her through her dharma as both wife and mother to a collective six children. Melissa believes that everything is yoga and knows that it is this practice that has fuelled her entrepreneurial spirit, allowing her to lean into her creativity with the comfort of knowing that we are all guided by something far greater than ourselves.

After years of teaching and practicing yoga part-time while exploring the balance between work and family; Melissa, along with her husband and children relocated to the beautiful islands of Cayman. It is here where she founded One Heart Yoga & Apothecary. Melissa remains full of gratitude for the welcome One Heart has received from both the people of Cayman as well as the Cayman Wellness Community. She is even more humbled by her recent opportunities to grow One Heart across the Caribbean.

Since her first Yoga Teacher Training, Melissa has completed teacher training in Baptiste Yoga, Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Philosophy, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, Meditation as well as Yin Yoga – and she’s not done yet! In April of 2023, Melissa will embark on her first solo pilgrimage to Rishikesh, India where she will attend a 300-hour yoga teacher training under Anand Mehrotra at The Sattva Yoga Academy.

Melissa believes that the opportunity for yoga happens everywhere and that our
practice of asana is only a reminder of how we can grow and evolve off the mat. You will find her asana practices to be challenging, yet accessible to all with a weaving thread of yogic philosophy.
